Not sure if it was the plane ride or what, but I had swollen ankles for a few days after Xmas. And it begins…

Christmas in Iowa
Posted onWe flew into Iowa for Xmas on 12/23. We had dinner at Okaboji Grill in Newton with the Morgans and Brad’s family. We spilled the beans at the dinner table and it’s safe to say…everyone was very caught off guard, but all were VERY surprised and excited! Karen probably the most!
We spent the entire day with Jeremy and Stacey on 12/26. Stacey and I went shopping while the boys stayed home and talked politics. Jeremy and Stacey’s new house is absolutely beautiful – we are so very happy for them! And I am very happy to announce that they have agreed to be your Godparents. They also recently found out they have a new baby on the way! They are due 7/13 so they’ll soon be a family of four.
Just think…this time next year, you’ll be almost 7 months old!
Time with Luli
Posted onMy mom drove to town today. I left work a little early and we had a late lunch at Luby’s and did some light shopping. It was fun to talk about you with her – she is getting excited now. I have an appointment on 12/29 for some follow up testing; nothing major. Since I am off that day, I plan to use that time to register at the hospital and find out about birthing classes and the like. I think my mom may try to gi with me that day.
For now, we are looking forward to our trip to Iowa. We are so excited to tell Bruce, Karen, and the rest of the Iowa clan….I think they will be very surprised!
I dreamt you’re a GIRL!
Posted onI had a dream last night that you are a girl! In my dream you were having explosive diarrhea and projectile vomiting…both at the same time! That part of the dream was not so great; I think it’s just a testament to my worries and fears, but it was cool to dream one way or the other on your sex. We’ll know in less than a month if that dream was right or not.
4 Month Check Up
Posted onI had a checkup today; we are 15 weeks and 4 days along! She said everything looks really good and we even got to listen to your heartbeat. She said it was right where it should be!
Maternity Clothes are Weird
Posted onWell, we’ve crossed another milestone on this journey….
Your dad and I went Xmas shopping at the mall. We passed by a maternity clothing store and decided to go in. We are officially 15 weeks along now…that’s almost 4 months! My pants are getting tighter and I can tell my belly is growing. Since my waist line is barely hanging on by a thread I figured it was time to at least see what my options were going to be.
It was a very interesting experience. They had this little fake baby belly that you could around your stomach to see how you would look when your baby belly gets bigger. That was kind of weird. I tried on a ton of shirts and multiple pairs of pants and ended up purchasing 2 pairs of jeans, 1 pair of dress pants, and 2 shirts. The jeans are so super comfy – I may just end up wearing maternity jeans from here on out! :-}
We have a sonogram scheduled one month from today (1/6) that will hopefully determine whether you are a boy or a girl. It’s just so hard to believe that in less than 6 months you will officially be in our lives. I wonder what you’ll look like? Will you have your father’s eyes or mine? (I hope, no matter what, that you at least end up with his eyelashes!) What will your laugh sound like? How big will you be? What color hair will you have? So many exciting things to look forward to….
A little freaked out
Posted onKristin Tullo, my co-worker, had a baby boy on 9/28. She brought him to the office on Monday and I must admit, I got a little freaked out. I think it started when she said she suffered from post partum depression for about the first month Wyatt was home and then continued into her blow by blow detail of what labor was like. As excited as I am, I must admit I am a bit terrified.
