Kindergarten!

How is it possible that you are already starting Kindergarten?! The time has flown by. You are just shy of 47” tall and are wearing a size 6/7. You are an extremely mature 5 ½ years old and you handled your first day of “real” school like a champ!

We went to meet your teacher last week. You were a little uncertain about all that was going on but managed to take it in stride. Monday morning came and mommy, daddy, & Brady all loaded up to join you for the big send off.

You wore a new dress – grey with black designs/hearts and an adorable pink belt. You had your personalized back pack that Noah & Cheryl had given you as a gift a couple of years ago. You had all your school supplies and new lunch bag packed up and ready to go. Your hair was braided and you were sporting your brand new and oh-so-adorable glasses.

We took a few pics on the porch at home, a few more outside the school, and a couple in the classroom at your table. Brady jumped in for a few of those – you could tell he was proud to be your brother!

Then off we went. Without so much as one single tear from any of us. As we were walking out I said to your dad – I didn’t cry!? Should I cry?! Why am I not crying?! 🙂 I think it’s because you were handling it all so well. It was obvious you were a little nervous about all the newness, but you didn’t bat an eyelash when we told you it was time for us to leave. You said, okay – I need to go to the bathroom. That’s my girl!

We picked both came to pick you up together and you were giddy! It was clear you’d had a fantastic day and that was such a relief for us to see. You were a little unsure about having go to different rooms – café, gym, etc. but you made it clear that you “love Mrs. Lappa!”. We already have a really good feeling about her!
