It’s been too long since our last blog.  I guess you can say we’ve been a little short on extra time the past few weeks.  We’ve had a few requests for updated pics and blogs so here we go.

Yesterday marked your 4 week birthday.  It’s so hard to believe it’s been that long already…it’s gone so fast!  You have changed so much in just the 3 weeks you’ve been home.  Your facial features have matured, your hair is getting longer, your eye contact is more focused, and you are even starting to use your hands with purpose!  You are growing up before our very eyes!

I am not getting much sleep during the night just yet.  You are able to average about 2.5 hours between night feedings and every now and then you’ll make it 4 hours.  Mommy loves it when that happens!

We had your one month check up today.  You are weighing in at 9 lbs and 4 ounces and are over 21 inches long now!  I guess you could say we’ve gotten the hang of this breast feeding thing!  Your brother (Jasper) and sister (Maddison) are starting to get used to you.  They no longer freak out when you cry…now they just lay there annoyed.  J

We’ve had quite a few visitors since bringing you home – lots of friends and family, but your grandparents take the cake.  Your Grandpa Terry and Grandma Sue have been over to love on you.  Your Grandma Karen and Grandpa Bruce were here for a week to see you and already have plans to come back for July 4th.  Your Grandma Luli was here for an entire week last week.  It was so nice to have the extra help and she had a blast lovin’ on you!  She’s totally enamored with you.

Speaking of family… it’s been the week of 2nd cousins!  Mr. Owen Carter Sharp was born to my cousin Grady & his wife Nicole Monday.  Owen is your 2nd cousin.  Nicole and I got pregnant right around the same time so it was fun to make that journey with her.  We can’t wait to meet Owen!  You also got to meet your other 2nd cousin, Carys, last week.  Her mom is my other cousin (and Grady’s sister), Chrislynn.  Last but not least, your 2nd Cousin Eli (his mom Erin is your Dad’s cousin) was here to visit you last night from Des Moines.

Your dad set up a web cam so that we can log on from any PC or our cell phones and see you in your crib.  Grandma Karen is a big fan of this; it helps her feel like she’s not so far away.  She logs on a few times a day to check in on you.

Well, it’s about time for another feeding.  I’ll try to be better about blogging and your dad will try to get better about posting updated pics.
